Mustangs remains undefeated after Waza’s visit

With a 7-2 final score, the Chicago Mustangs MASL2’s defending champions not only gave their faithful fans an early Christmas present but remain undefeated and on top of the MASL2 Eastern division.

The 7-2 may not be a reflection of the hard-fought game that up until the first half remained 1-1 with a great show put up by Waza’s goalkeeper Enrique Orozco (16 saves game total).

Waza maintained a disciplined formation and keep the Mustangs to a solely goal scored by Niver Arango assisted by Patricio “Pato” Barroche (4’10”), here is where Orozco’s performance made the difference it was until the second quarter (2’54”) that Ludvick Asigo – unassisted – tied the a game that stay like that for the remaining of the half.

An early goal 53 seconds into the 3rd quarter by Michael Palushaj assisted by Ian Walker surprised the Mustangs. But coach Armando Gamboa’s half time talk was to see results a minute later when Niver Arango again assisted by Cesar Macias tied the game at 2.

Then it was all Mustangs, the home team came back roaring, Ivan Castro (2’27”) open the flood gates to 4 uncontested goals by the Mustangs ( Ryan Ybarra, assisted by Cesar Macias -11’48”-, Alejandro Lopez assisted by Patricio Barroche -12’47”, Alexis Camarena -1’31’/4th quarter and Patricio “Pato” Barroche -10’31”).

The Mustangs are now 3-0 the Eastern division and Waza Flo dropped to the bottom of the table with a 0-2 record.

The Mustangs will pay the visit to Detroit on Saturday December 29th at the Detroit City Fieldhouse (Detroit, MI) with a 5:50 kickoff time and will be back home for a game against the Muskegon Risers on Saturday January 29th at 5:05 pm.
